This airfield is open 7 days a week from 09:00 to 18:00hrs (local time). It has a new 1264m long runway. The 730m grass runway allows landing strictly by prior arrangement. There are no fuel or hanger facilities available.

McCAIGS TOWER

Oban's most prominent landmark, built by the respected banker, John Stuart McCaig in 1887. Overlooking Oban with panoramic views of the firth of Lorne.

OBAN DISTILLERY

See one of the six classic malts being made and discover the secrets of the ancient art of distilling.

GYLEN CASTLE

A late 16th century L-plan tower house which stands on a cliff face overlooking the Sound of Kerrera.

KILCHURN CASTLE

Built 1440 by Sir Colin Campbell of Glenorchy.

CASTLE STALKER

Picturesque ancient seat of the Stewart's of Appin, dating back to the 14th century.

DUNSTAFFNAGE CASTLE

A fine 13th century castle built on a rock with a great curtain wall. The castle's colourful history stretches across the Wars of Independence to the 45 rising.

It was briefly the prison of Flora MacDonald.

INVERARAY CASTLE

Home of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll. Since the early 15th century Inveraray Castle has been the headquarters of Clan Campbell.

DUART CASTLE

Duart has been the home of the Chief of the clan MacLean and his family for 700 years.

TOROSAY CASTLE

Torosay is a beautiful and welcoming Victorian family home with furniture, pictures and scrap books dating from Edwardian times, situated 1.5 miles from Craignure on the Isle of Mull. It is surrounded by 12 acres of spectacular gardens.

ATLANTIC BRIDGE

"The bridge over the Atlantic ocean." Built in 1792 by Robert Milne and John Stevenson builders of Oban.

EASDALE ISLAND MUSEUM

Showing the history of the island's slate industry and it's people in the 18th and 19th century.

THE SCOTTISH SLATE ISLAND HERITAGE TRUST

KILMARTIN GLEN

Over 5000 years of human history are traced across the Kilmartin Valley. At least 150 prehistoric sites lie within 6 miles of the quiet village: burial cairns, rock carvings, standing stones and the fortress of the earliest Scottish Kings.

IONA ABBEY

On the Island of Iona, reached by ferry from Fionnphort, Mull. One of Scotland's most historic and venerated sites, Iona is the burial place for many Scottish Kings.
